the djinni Bartimaeus again

phew.

i've done it. completed The Amulet of Samarkand, that is. 1 week ahead of schedule.

i was fortunate that girls were fast asleep after the nasty tongue twister Fox in Socks and Yertle the Turtle (xian's current dr seuss favourites) which allowed me ample time to catch up on my own reading.

and i'm proceeding with great pleasure, the 2nd book of The Bartimaeus Trilogy which picks up 2 years or so where The Amulet of Samarkand left off. let's just hope The Golem's Eye is as delightful as its predecessor. (picture on the right shows how to create a golem, if anyone is keen...)

i love ol' opinionated Barty's wicked sense of humour and sarcasm. it's quite refreshing. for a taste of his self-glorified, pompus narrative style, read here.
