damn, i missed them!

in my entire life, i've only attended 2 "live" concerts - natalie cole (sometime back in the 1990s with my folks as they loved nat 'king' cole and wanted to hear his daughter belt out his songs) and the corrs (the hub and i had free tickets as his client was one of their main concert sponsors).

needless to say, i attended both concerts BEFORE i had any kids.

of course, there were a few other "live" concerts i wanted to attend but didn't want to spend money on expensive tickets - i was either still a student or had just started working and didn't have much spare cash to splurge in these entertainment expenses.

BUT there were 2 concerts i *really* wanted to go and COULDN'T. and on both occasions, money wasn't the issue. the reason why i couldn't attend was because i was either heavily pregnant or had just given birth and was in confinement.

*sigh*

in september 2005, i missed black eyed peas' monkey business tour, after i'd delivered wen and had to serve my mandatory 1 month sentence. tough luck.

and just 2 weeks ago, (exactly on the hub's birthday) i missed maroon 5's performance at the singapore indoor stadium...

much as i'd have loved to go, there was no way i was going to jeopardise the safety of my unborn child and subject myself to being pushed/shoved around amidst the wild frantic fans. especially not in my final weeks of pregnancy - although it would be excellent newsworthy material if i'd gone into labour there and then (owing to excitement) during the concert, and delivered before the ambulance could get pass the screaming mob of fans and reach me!

hahahhahahahhahahaaaaa...

2 missed opportunities to attend "live" performances of my favourite music artistes. i guess there's always a next time. ;)
